The Neighborhood Watch is a volunteer crime prevention program sponsored by the Virginia Beach Police Department and the Bellamy Woods Civic League. The program is focused on being aware of what is going on in your neighborhood and protecting your home and your neighbor's home by being vigilant of activity that is out of the ordinary. The popular adage .."If you see something, Do something!" applies.
As a Neighborhood Watch participant, we would ask you...
* to be proactively alert to things happening on your street and in your neighborhood,
* to keep your Block Captain informed of any suspicious activity and
* to call the Virginia Beach Police non-emergency number (385-5000) if you
suspect anything is out of the ordinary.
Our Neighborhood Watch program has a successful track record but there is always the risk of criminal activity in the neighborhood. Our collective awareness as neighbors remains the principal deterrent to potential criminal activity. Keep our community safe by joining your neighbors as an active participant in the Neighborhood Watch program!
The City of Virginia Beach has an excellent website, https://www.vbgov.com/Pages/default.aspx, that can address a far ranging list of topics of interest to our residents. More information on the Neighborhood Watch Program including a link to a short online training & certification program published by the city is available at https://www.vbgov.com/government/departments/police/opsdiv/Pages/NeighborhoodWatch.aspx
